LEHI, UT (February 16, 2017) — DigiCert healthcare solutions for connected medical devices have been recognized as the gold winner for “Best Security Solutions for Healthcare” at the 13th annual Info Security Product Guide’s 2017 Global Excellence Awards. Winners were announced earlier this week at an awards dinner held in conjunction with the RSA security conference in San Francisco.
Additionally, DigiCert’s enterprise-grade certificate management platform, CertCentral®, was selected as a finalist for Best Security Solution for the enterprise at the 2017 SC Awards, also held in San Francisco this week.
“DigiCert focuses on providing solutions to combat the challenge of securing deployments at scale to meet the growing need for stronger identity assurance and data encryption,” said DigiCert VP of Healthcare Solutions Mike Nelson. “We are honored to receive recognition by these reputable awards that highlight our enterprise and healthcare IoT security efforts.”
DigiCert provides reliable security solutions for connected medical devices that allow manufacturers and healthcare providers to better protect patient safety and personal health information. DigiCert Auto-Provisioning combines scalable digital certificate issuance with automated provisioning to simplify large-volume device enrollment and credentialing. It also provides on-device secure key generation and storage to prevent the use of stolen credentials and unauthorized devices. Additionally, manufacturers and device owners can provision certificates for their connected devices whether or not they use open enrollment protocols.
Connected medical devices present opportunities to improve patient care through real-time information sharing and data gathering used to analyze public health. In recent months, though, vulnerabilities presented in popular pacemakers, defibrillators and insulin pumps have highlighted the need for better security protections. Scalable public key infrastructure (PKI), such as that provided through DigiCert solutions, can be used for data encryption, secure boot, patch management, machine-to-machine mutual authentication, user authentication, and data integrity to help prevent unauthorized intrusions and data manipulation.
For enterprise security, DigiCert CertCentral simplifies certificate lifecycle management at scale, providing efficiencies and tightening security controls. CertCentral automates traditionally manual processes for certificate management, including discovery, analysis, procurement, deployment, management, monitoring and remediation. Built upon flexible APIs, CertCentral easily integrates into organizations’ existing workflows while providing access to the most comprehensive digital certificate repositories. Featuring an intuitive, cloud-based portal, CertCentral easily scales across an organization’s work places, regardless of geographic location.
